We have been fortunate to have
had visits from several different Arts Partners during
the school year. However, the main organization that we
collaborated with was Henry Street
Settlement.They brought in a resident music and
drama artist, each who worked with many classes over 10
week cycles. The music artist focused on teaching the
fundamental elements of African music culture. The drama
artist helped our students learn to write and present a
play, as well as to become aware of their feelings and
impressions.
For the third consecutive year we
worked with Henry Street's video artist who, this year,
focused on training our staff members in the use of
digital video in the classroom.
